Before agreeing to work
- Confirm which business will carry out the work and obtain its written contact and quotation details.
- Check the boundary position with the owner and adjoining neighbours where needed. A title plan rarely proves the exact line.
- Check planning requirements for the exact property, particularly near a road or listed building.
- Agree material specification, waste removal, payment milestones and what happens if hidden ground conditions change the price.
